Beyonce

23 Jan

Ok, so it’s no real secret that I have not been a fan of Beyonce for some time now. I’m not getting into the reasons (please see Mollytics for details), but the important point of this post is to let you all know that I have reversed my policy.

I am now a Beyonce fan.

Here are some reasons why:

1. She rocked it at the We Are One concert. Leather pants aside, her rendition of America the Beautiful was amazing.

2. At Last at the Neighborhood Ball.

You could tell she was fighting back tears at the end, and was so honored to be singing for the President and First Lady. Even though her dress was a little mother of the bride for me, she as Barb said “got the memo that she was singing for the President” and dressed accordingly. Shakira, take note.

3. Her interview with Robin Roberts after singing. She wasn’t fighting the tears anymore. She talked about Obama making her want to be smarter and inspiring her to learn about the election and watch the events. And then she said it was the most important day of her life. Coming from a girl married to Jay-Z, that was the tipping point for me.

4. Unrelated to the inauguration, I really love the Single Ladies video.

Love ya Luc, but couldn’t disagree more (at least at the “We are One” concert since that’s the only thing I saw). She was fine, but she’s no Etta James.

Agree to disagree? After all, we are one!
